AOTA’s governance and Bylaws enhancements

Continued progress requires changes to how AOTA operates, including changes to the Bylaws. Members can vote on the proposed Bylaws in June 2022, and shape the future.

Member recommendations are shaping the future
The process to update AOTA’s governance and Bylaws began in September 2019 and involved the Governance Enhancement Task Force; the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force; the Representative Assembly (RA) Task Force; the Bylaws, Policies, and Procedures Committee (BPPC); and the Board of Directors. More than 2,000 members provided input on streamlining AOTA’s decision-making structure, creating meaningful opportunities for member participation, and becoming a more agile and responsive Association.
New structure and Bylaws emphasize collaboration
AOTA’s proposed new governance approach is collaborative and cross-functional, focused on engaging all the governance bodies. The specific plans for governance changes are outlined in the revisions to AOTA’s Bylaws.
